Tops Ways To Customize An Engagement Ring

Blog

There are many different styles of engagement rings out there these days. But sometimes, buying a ring off the rack does not feel personal enough. You may want to look into ways to personalize the ring and make it your own. Here are some top ways to consider personalizing your engagement ring.

Add your birthstones.

Years ago, most engagement rings included diamonds. Lately, however, rings with alternative gemstones have become popular. As such, one customization option is to have a ring made with your birthstone and your future fiance's birthstone. You could design a ring with the two placed side by side. Or, you could design a ring with a diamond in the middle and each of your birthstones on either side. Including both birthstones can set the ring apart from a more general birthstone ring.

Engrave your engagement date.

If you know what date you'll be proposing to your partner, you could have that date engraved on the band of the ring. People often have engagement rings engraved on the inside of the band where the engraving is less visible, but you can have the outside engraved if you want others to see the date. If you're not sure when you're proposing, you could always give your partner the ring and then take it back to be custom engraved after the fact.

Add a streak of color to the band.

Gone are the days when all engagement rings had plain, gold bands. More rings are now being made with tiny pops of color in the band itself. This could be a great way to customize an otherwise traditional diamond ring. Have a tiny bit of your partner's favorite color added to the band. Or, you could have a thin streak of both of your favorite colors added if they look nice together.

Engrave a symbol.

People often think of engravings as having to denote words or dates. But you can have an engagement ring engraved with a symbol, too. Maybe your first date was at a coffee shop. A tiny engraving of a coffee cup on the inside of the band could be fun. Or, perhaps you both love hiking. An image of a stick person hiking could be cute.

These are just a few of the many ways to customize an engagement ring. At the end of the day, if it will make your ring feel more your own, visit a custom jewelry designer to explore more options.

A Special Gift for a Sweet Mother-In-Law

A few days ago, my mother-in-law’s dad passed away. This sweet man lived a long, full life. He was ninety-one-years-old when he died. At his funeral, my mother-in-law told me she liked the ruby, cross pendant I was wearing. Because I wanted to cheer this sweet woman up, I immediately came up with a plan. I decided to buy her a pendant like mine. Because this pendant was also available in sapphire, I decided to purchase this stone for my mother-in-law. Sapphire is her birthstone. On this blog, I hope you will discover the best types of jewelry items to buy for a mother-in-law. Enjoy!
